Our Story

The story of Indochine starts with the visionary collaboration of Dipendra Goenka, Nishit Bapna and Janet Xu, who united in 2004 with distinct skills and a shared goal.

Dipendra’s expertise in retail strategy and merchandising combined with Nishit’s and Janet’s deep understanding of supply chain intricacies, culminated into what is now close to a $1B full-service design, sourcing and manufacturing powerhouse. At the core of their success lies a fundamental belief — people first.

Central to their strategy is the unwavering commitment to seek the most cost-effective production countries. Indochine, however, takes this pursuit a step further by aligning it with a profound purpose. 

Spanning over 20 countries, approximately 1,800 corporate employees and over 18,000 factory workers, Indochine has a commitment to people and impacting lives wherever it expands.

Our Leadership

At Indochine, the journey is not just about creating products; it is about creating a legacy that echoes the principles of compassion, sustainability and a dedication to improving lives worldwide.

  • Dipendra is the founder and key driving force behind lndochine’s success. With more than 30 years of experience in the industry, he knows the ins-and-out of making sourcing happen, from the factory floor to the boardroom to the showroom to the retail floor.

  • A 30-year veteran of apparel sourcing and manufacturing, Nishit ensures the whole of lndochine’s vertical supply chain runs smoothly in meeting the needs of our valued brand-customers.

  • Janet is the co-founder of Indochine. With more than 22 years of experience in international apparel manufacturing, she expertly serves Indochine’s US customer base in all cross-border sourcing execution

  • As the Managing Director of our LA Headquarters, Rahul is responsible for driving customer growth and the expansion of our sourcing footprint throughout Mexico and Central America. Rahul’s expertise and innovative perspective contribute significantly to the ongoing growth and extension of Indochine’s reach.

  • Tarun, based out of London, is the Managing Director for the UK and Europe. He has a keen interest to understand and explore all elements of the supply chain to ensure the customers demands are met. Tarun works closely with design, sales and sourcing to ensure seamless connection throughout the product life cycle.
